Spring...

I've been catching up on my blogging.. Forcing myself to be a little more consistent.. a little more creative too. I guess, it is that time of the year.. I seem to respond to the warmer weather better, more time to take pictures outside...
-- The birds are coming to hang out at the bird feeder...

It's stating to warm up (except for last night--it was 54 degrees).. The kids are enjoying playing outside and....

Football Season is just around the corner (no, really)... We just paid for our season tickets last month and the first Trojan Huddle is coming...WOW, time is flying by.....

I heart faces

Here is my entry to this week's I {heart} faces contest. Since I missed the last 8 or 9, I wanted to make sure I got it in this week. The theme this week is Spring/Easter and I'm entering the Amateur category. Can you believe I managed to take only a few pics with the Easter eggs? The kids were too quick, I had to yell freeze just to get them to stop for a couple of pictures.... Someone has a new hobby--

It's 12:30 PM & my older son has taken 150 photos in less than an hour... He's really enjoying his new mini-camera. The camera is really tiny and the resolution is pretty bad, but hey he's having a ton of fun. Here are a few of his favorites that he picked out to put on my blog... I really like his self portrait ;)

A few more shots to share..Grandma gave a pair of binoculars & a little camera as surprise gifts and the little ones had fun playing with them.

The little one peeking at a bag of watermelon... The way to his heart is definitely through his stomach. I took of picture of him midway through his happy dance because he was so excited that he had a bowlful of fruit.

Self Portrait

I've been kicking myself for weeks since I dropped the ball w/ the 365 challenge (I guess its all on Erin B's shoulders now), so I decided that this weekend I would take some time to play with my camera. We went to visit Grandma and didn't make it to the park...The kids found too many fun things to play with in the backyard and time got away...But, things worked out well- I was able to take a good 200 shots.

You may even find a shot of someone that has never shown up on my blog.. ME.

If you know me, then you know that I am extremely camera shy. I'm the first to volunteer to take the picture so I can hide. While I was searching through some old photos last night, I recalled a conversation I had with Ali in Provo during a break in her Evolution class. Somehow we got ino a conversation about the importance of getting infront of the camera. So, this time I made sure that I packed the tripod and my remote so I could take a self-portrait, a big test for me ;)

I took the little guy to get a haircut, but they messed it up and it looked like a mullet... So, I had them cut it short. It made me sad ;( Good thing hair grows !

I'm trying hard to take a photo a day, but I've missed two days already. So instead, I'm posting a few "extra" photos that I took while playing with my camera.
It was hard to get my little models to pose for me this weekend.. so I took a few secret photos of the little one when he was playing Star Wars.

We watched Peter Pan this weekend {and dressed up as Captain Hook}. You can't see the feather in his hat, but the whole outfit is really, really cute!

I decided that I am going to participate in an ongoing challenge. I had never heard of 365 until I read Erin's post...I'm not sure if I will be able to complete the task, but I will try my best! I guess part of this challenge involves embracing my camera ;)

Ali posted an article about her word for the year. This year, I decided to pick my own word...EMBRACE.
Such a powerful word for me. I want to embrace my family and every moment I have with them. I want to embrace new ideas with optimism and enthusiasm & I want to embrace new opportunities as well as challenges that life throws my way... I want to embrace life.
